Most recently David was Vice President of Commercial Operations for Tamarack Resort, L.L.C., a year-round resort in Idaho with a $1.2 billion planned development cost and the first major destination ski resort to be opened in the United States in more than 20 years. At Tamarack he managed the lobbying effort with the Idaho State Legislature for the successful extension of the resort’s lease of State lands to 49 years. Additionally, he was responsible for planning the commercial retail aspects of the resort.

“David brings a host of talents and experiences with him to Leisure Trends,” company president Jim Spring commented. “On the hospitality side, David has worked with leading mountain resorts in the United States and in Europe; on the supplier side he has been president and CEO of Sport Distribution Inc., which imported and sold the Nevica, Koflach, Blizzard and LaCroix brands in the United States and on the retail side, he owned and operated Chivers Sports in Boulder, Colorado, a leading specialty sport retailer.”

“At Leisure Trends Group David will spearhead the evolution of LTG products and services. His goal is to increase our market penetration, to identify new markets and to use his perspective and knowledge to increase our level of service for our existing accounts,” Spring said.

The Leisure Trends Group recently signed three-year contracts with Snowsports Industries America, Outdoor Industry Association and the Outrigger Resort Group. In fiscal 2003 LTG experienced an 18% growth in sales.

In 2004 the company will introduce an Athletic Apparel Tracking Study , working with the largest sporting goods stores in the country. The study is an extension of its tracking studies in snow sports, outdoor recreation, water sports, scuba and sport eyewear.

Scott stated, “I am excited about this opportunity to work with Jim Spring, as well as Julia Day, Scott Jaeger and the staff at Leisure Trends. Previously, I have been a client of Leisure Trends and I have always been impressed with the quality, the accuracy and the professionalism of the company’s services.”
