La Sportiva announced the hiring of Nat Matthews as financial director and Darrin Young as national sales manager.
Matthews replaces Kellie Beran, who is retiring after 27 years of service to the brand, and Young will work with the brand’s independent sales reps. Both have already joined the La Sportiva team in Boulder.
“It has been a true pleasure working with Kellie for all these years and we wish her the absolute best in her retirement,” says Jonathan Lantz, president of La Sportiva North America. “We are thrilled to have Nat and Darrin join our team as we emerge from the Covid pandemic and reach a critical point of growth for the brand. We have significant momentum in the market and the addition of Nat and Darrin brings a depth of knowledge to the team that has us poised for continued success.”
Young is an experienced sales leader with 10 years of retail experience at EMS and REI, followed by six years at Timberland/Smartwool and five years as the Smartwool National Sales and Marketing Manager focused on the Ski, Run, and Cycle specialty business. Young has most recently served for four years as Director of Sales at Sea to Summit.
Matthews joins La Sportiva from The American Alpine Club, where he served as the Chief Operating and Financial Officer for the last seven years. Prior to the AAC, Matthews worked as a financial and operational risk consultant for a Fortune 500 companies, including American Express, Boeing, Nautica, and First Solar.
