Kulczycki Takes over as CEO of Filson

Filson Holdings, Inc., parent company of C.C. Filson Company, has appointed Bill Kulczycki as President and Chief Executive Officer. He replaces Doug Williams, who becomes Chairman of the Board. Kulczycki will be based in the company’s Seattle, Washington headquarters.

“I am very proud of the Filson organization and the huge strides that we have made during the past eighteen months,” Williams said. “We launched our new Lodge Collection, reinvented our online sales program, and energized our catalog business while opening our second retail store in Denver, Colorado last month.”

Williams added, “We are very fortunate to have a person with Bill Kulczycki’s pedigree joining Filson. He brings with him more than two decades of vision and leadership in the premium outdoor business.”

Kulczycki spent the last seventeen years with Patagonia in a variety of management roles. During the last seven years, he was vice president of business development at Patagonia International, responsible for Patagonia Europe, Patagonia Japan, Patagonia International, Beneficial T’s, Lotus Designs, and Water Girl USA. He was also involved in new business acquisitions.

“The Filson brand is an icon in the outdoor market with an enviable heritage of quality, performance, and integrity,” Kulczycki said. “I am honored to have the opportunity to take Filson to the next level by building on the success that the team has delivered.”
