ShopKo Stores, Inc. announced the promotion of James Kratowicz to vice president of pricing, consumer information resources and e-commerce for the company’s ShopKo division.
Kratowicz, 38, began his career at ShopKo in 1989 as a strategic planning analyst. He was promoted through the strategic planning, advertising and marketing ranks and was named director of consumer information resources and e-commerce in 1997. Prior to joining ShopKo, Kratowicz was a stockbroker at Thompson McKinnon, Milwaukee, Wis. He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater.
“Jim’s leadership in the area of consumer information research has given us greater insight into the expectations of ShopKo’s customer,” said Sam Duncan, ShopKo president and chief executive officer. “That experience will support the development of a comprehensive pricing strategy focused on new business ideas, alliances and future vendor partnerships in an effort to increase the profitability and growth of the company.” Kratowicz will report to Duncan.
