KOR Water has appointed Peter van Stolk, the founder and former CEO of Jones Soda Co., and Ravi Sawhney, founder and CEO of industrial design firm, RKS, to its Board of Directors.

Peter van Stolk has over 20 years experience in business creation, business development and product sales. As founder of Jones Soda Company in 1987, it was van Stolk’s marketing approach that encouraged customer input and online interaction that brought the small beverage company massive success and consumer brand loyalty against the global multi-billion dollar soda giants. By 2007, Jones Soda had reached $40 million in revenue, transforming the company from a niche premium Soda, to an international brand with global aspirations.

“Peter’s passion for creating brand loyalty and connecting with customers on a grassroots level, combined with his profound knowledge of the beverage industry make him a huge asset to KOR,” said KOR’s founder and CEO Eric Barnes.  “We look forward to his valuable insight as we move into the next phase of the brand.”

Ravi Sawhney is the founder and CEO of RKS. Since founding the compnay nearly 30 years ago, Sawhney has been recognized with every major design award in the industry and has helped generate over 150 patents for the clients of RKS.  Sawhney is also credited with inventing the popular Psycho-Aesthetics design strategy. Most recently, he was named Executive Director of IDSA’s Catalyst program, where he will help develop case studies illustrating design’s power to effect positive change.

“Ravi is one of the most well-respected and innovative designers of our time and we are fortunate to have someone of his caliber on our board,” said Barnes.  “The RKS vision to create designs that empower consumers is exactly what KOR is all about.”
