Kohl’s Corporation posted a 15.0% increase in total sales to $972.8 million from $846.2 million during the year-ago month. Comparable sales for the month increased 5.9%.
For the second quarter ended July 29, 2006, total sales were up 14.0% while comparable store sales increased 5.5%. For the 26 weeks ended July 29, 2006, total sales were up 15.0% over the 26 weeks ended July 30, 2005. On a comparable store basis, sales for the 26 weeks increased 6.2%.

Larry Montgomery, Kohl’s chairman and chief executive officer, said, “We are extremely pleased with our sales performance in July and for the second quarter. Once again, we exceeded our comparable store sales guidance of 2% to 4% for the quarter as we continue to see consistency in sales performance across all lines of business and in all regions of the country.”
