Klean Kanteen was acquired by the Think Better Group, in partnership with the ABN Amro Sustainable Impact Fund.

Klean Kanteen, the manufacturer of reusable stainless steel products, including drinkware and containers since 2002, reportedly aligns with Think Better Group’s strategy to “eliminate single-use plastics and across its product range of care, drinks and lifestyle.”

Since its founding, Klean Kanteen reports it has had notable industry firsts, including “the first to be BPA-free and lead-free in manufacturing drink containers.”

As a family-operated business, Klean’s owners, Michelle Kalberer and Jeff Cresswell, join Think Better Group’s sustainable brand portfolio and will leverage its global reach. “The opportunity to partner with Think Better Group and further expand our offering across both our home North American market and internationally is truly unique. We have operated our business independently for over 20 years and view the opportunity now to join with a partner that shares our core principles and values”.

Klean distributes its products to over 100 countries. Think Better Group reported, “It views the partnership as an opportunity to grow its portfolio more into the North American market leveraging Klean’s unique infrastructure, while at the same time further elevating the Klean brand into the core European and Asia Pacific markets that the business operates today.”

Heath Jansen, CEO of Think Better Group, commented, “We are excited to welcome the Klean Kanteen team to Think Better Group. Our combined businesses will allow us to grow sustainably and provide additional plastic-free alternatives to our global consumer base”.
