Kitsbow, the cycling apparel and accessories manufacturer, announced it has partnered with Eagle Market Streets Development Corporation (EMSDC) to purchase a 60,000-square-foot warehouse in Old Fort, N.C.

Plans include developing the building into a multi-use community center used as a school for industrial sewing, retail and light manufacturing for startup businesses, and Kitsbow has committed to occupying 50 percent of the building, 30,000 square feet, for use in training industrial sewing and expanding its operations in Old Fort.

The transaction closed on December 30, 2021.

Kitsbow, a U.S. apparel manufacturer, is a public benefit corporation, majority-owned by its employees. Since relocating to Old Fort, N.C. in late 2019, Kitsbow has focused on training a workforce with no prior experience in making apparel and has applied for B Corp certification.

A schedule for the planning and development of the building will be announced soon.
