Kimmel Athletic Supply Co., based in Spokane, WA, has bought the assets of Redmond's Athletic Supply LLC. The assets only include the inventory but not the receivables and no liabilities, Bill Davis, president, told SportsOneSource. The company also took over the lease to a store in Redmond.
The nearly 8,000-square-foot store, located at 16101 NE 87th St., opened on March 31, according to a report in the Redmond Patch.
Kimmel also operates stores in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, and in Yakima, as well as a sales office in Dallas.
Davis told SportsOneSource that Kimmel Athletic found out Athletic Supply LLC's owners were interested in selling the company and Kimmel Athletic was interested in furthering its reach into the region.
The acquisition adds 23 employees to Kimmel Supply, including six roadman in Western Washington. Kimmel Athletic Supply now has 11 roadmen in Western Washington as well as 4 in Central Washington and 6 in Eastern Washington for a total of 21 roadmen in the State of Washington.
“We now have 11 roadman in the area so it gives us a strong presence in all of the state of Washington,” said Davis.
