Keen announced the departure of CEO James Curleigh, who has taken a position with another company outside of the outdoor industry.

Rory Fuerst, founder and CEO of Keen, has initiated a search for the next president who will guide Keen's execution of its strategic plan, its global organizational development, and its brand and product innovation, designed to excite new and existing fans.
Curleigh’s departure comes as Keen adopts a new 5-year strategic plan that sets the stage for future growth, including continued global expansion, new exciting product lines, new U.S. and global factories, and a new Keen headquarters in Portland, OR.
For the past 9 years, Keen, a pioneer and leader in sustainable products and practices, has grown from its original hybrid sandal, the Newport, to a versatile and extensive line of outdoor and casual footwear, bags and socks. Under the careful leadership of a strong group of industry veterans, Keen has consistently experienced double-digit growth and built a worldwide base of fans for its products.

Its new strategic plan focuses on preparing every aspect of the company for scalability and provides an exciting roadmap for the future.

Keen recently completed a highly successful implementation of a new global SAP operating system, and opened a new state-of-the-art shoe production facility in Portland. Keen will also open a new retail store in Asia in June.
