Kammok, a designer of outdoor gear, is celebrating National Hammock Day, July 21, by organizing nationwide campouts to get as many people as possible sleeping off the ground on a single night.
“Hammock camping is therapeutic, wildly easy, and introduces a new and creative way to sleep under the stars in nature,” said Grace Mueller, marketing manager at Kammok. “We want to bridge the gap for campers and non-campers alike, who have only known tent or RV camping, giving them an elevated experience they will never forget. We’re thrilled this will be the first time hammock camping for many, and we’re confident it won’t be the last.”
Kammok has organized six campouts around the nation and is asking supporters to recruit friends, join a campout, or host a local campout of their own. Local campouts include Austin, Denver, Jackson, New York, Springfield and Anchorage.
In addition, each day leading up to July 21, Kammok is giving away one free hammock.
