K2 Inc. has made two appointments at its Earth Products, Inc. unit, appointing founder Chris Miller to Chief Creative Officer and Jeff Larsen to the position of President of Earth Products, Inc. The company, which is based in Carlsbad, Calif., markets products under the Adio, Planet Earth, Hawk Shoes, and Holden brands.
Commenting on the changes, Wayne Merck, President and Chief Operating Officer of K2, said, “Earth Products has had phenomenal growth over the past few years and these changes allow us to continue building on the company's momentum in the market. We are creating a truly global Action Sports platform and in doing so want to leverage the unique talents of both Chris and Jeff to their optimum capabilities.”
Earth Products was founded in 1990 by former professional skater Chris Miller under the Planet Earth name. Shortly after K2 bought the company in 1997, Adio footwear was started and is now one of the top selling action sports brands in the U.S. and throughout the world.
