K-Swiss has entered into a sponsorship deal with Home Team Marketing to put its name in about 100 high schools in the Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles and Pittsburgh markets.
Home Team Marketing is a Cleveland-based agency that has aggregated high school rights across the country, confirmed a company spokeswoman. K-Swiss will test the program at 100 schools and indicated the list could grow to 1,000 in 2011 if successful.
The two-year deal provides K-Swiss with branding and signage in the schools athletic facilities and hallways. Signage for the current year will support its Tubes training shoes. K-Swiss will make a donation of $600 to each school involved in the
program in 2010. Also, a fundraising component allows 10% of K-Swiss sales to go back to the schools.
K-Swiss has increased its sponsorship efforts over the past few years as it moved into the performance running category. It is the presenting
sponsor of the Los Angeles Marathon. It also sponsors Ironman triathlons and triathletes.
