Just Run, national award-winning youth fitness program administered by the Big Sur International Marathon, has kicked off the new school year with a newly-designed website. The information-rich site utilizes new photography, colors and navigation to help guide teachers and leaders through the process of setting up and administering an effective program for their students.
“We’re very excited about rolling out our new website,” said Susan Love, director, Just Run. “Our major goals were to give the site an updated look and to make it more user-friendly and easy to comprehend by teachers and leaders.”
The www.justrun.org website continues to provide a wealth of information including program structure and activities, tips, resources, testimonials, videos and much more. Upon entering the new site, leaders can immediately find links to the program description – “What’s Just Run,” view a “Quick Start” guide, “Record Miles and Deeds,” and find “Tools for Success” such as warm ups, stretches and session activities. The homepage also lists the benefits for both leaders and children, and includes program spotlights, sample drills, testimonials, FAQs and more. The primary feature of the program, “Run Across the USA/Europe,” where children’s mileage is recorded and classes are able to track their progress on an interactive map across the country, has also been enhanced to include additional tools to assist leaders.
The new Just Run website was created by Boots Road, a Monterey area-based digital marketing agency, with partial funding provided through a grant from the Rudy E. Futer Fund for Human & Humane Needs, The James M. and Marjorie E. Sturgeon Fund and the General Endowment Fund of the Community Foundation for Monterey County. Susan Love and program founder Mike Dove worked with web developers to edit and reorganize information from the former Just Run website.
Established in the 2004-05 school year, Just Run has now reached 93 thousand children who have collectively logged 2.6 million miles. The program has won numerous awards, most recently the 2015 National Youth Program of the Year from Running USA.
