J.R. Keller of Delta, Colorado has joined the full time Hunter’s Specialties Pro Staff Team.
Keller grew up chasing elk and turkeys in the Colorado Rocky Mountains. Growing up the son of a Pennsylvania turkey hunter and living in the land of milk and honey is how Keller describes his childhood.
Having a father who was an avid turkey hunter, the passion carried on to J.R. After successfully calling in and harvesting his first turkey at the age of 12 there was no turning back. This lead to competition calling, where he had success at a state level and then ranking on a national level as well.
Calling turkeys was just a stepping stone to the full-on excitement of calling in rutting bull elk every fall. From the day he arrowed his first bull elk at age 16, there hasnt been a September when he isnt chasing elk. After the rut is over Keller switches to waterfowl hunting and enjoys calling birds in.
Keller will present seminars and in-store promotions and is featured on the Hunters Specialties, The Stuff of Legends TV show and Hunter’s Specialties DVDs. He is also involved in product development and was instrumental in bringing products such as the Mac Daddy elk call and the Bull Hooker to the market.
