Albertsons Companies, Inc. reported that Sarah Mensah, president of the Jordan Brand for Nike, Inc., had joined the supermarket chain’s Board of Directors, along with Lisa Gray, vice chair and senior leal officer for Cerberus Operations & Advisory Company, LLC.
Albertsons said Mensah had played key roles across Nike’s geographical and Jordan businesses since she joined the company in 2013. She has been president of Jordan Brand since June 2023. Previously, Mensah was the VP and GM of Nike North America.
Before Nike, Mensah spent 19 years working for the NBA’s Portland Trail Blazers, last as senior vice president and chief operating officer. She received credit for rebranding and revitalizing the Trail Blazer brand and improving its financial viability.
Mensah has numerous recognitions to her name, including Women in Sports Business Game Changer by the Sports Business Journal, Top Executive in Marketing and Advertising by BlackEnterprise magazine and, most recently, by Adweek as one of the 50 Most Powerful Women in Sports. She serves on the board of North Pole Studios and the International Women’s Foundation.
