Johnson Outdoors continues to add more brands to its Marine Electronics division, most recently with the acquisition of Cannon downriggers and Bottomline fishfinders. The brands and assets were acquired in a cash purchase from Computrol of Boise, Idaho, a wholly owned subsidiary of Armstrong International. The Cannon and Bottomline brands will be integrated into the company's existing Marine Electronics Group business.

According to Johnson, Cannon is “the #1 brand of downriggers” used on motorized boats for controlled depth fishing while, Bottomline is a value brand of fishfinders. As a result of these acquisitions, Johnson Outdoors now competes in five distinct marine electronics segments that represent a $350 million marketplace opportunity.

In other JOUT news, the company received two separate orders for the Modular General Purpose Tent System totaling $6.2 million and a separate $2.7 million order for tent floors and liners, all with anticipated delivery in the first half of calendar 2006. As a result of these recent orders, the company has now received eight separate orders totaling $12.5 million awarded under the multi-vendor, multi-product contract announced on September 7, 2005. In spite of this increase in business, JOUT's outlook for military tent sales in fiscal 2006 remains unchanged.
