Joe’s Sports & Outdoor will host a grand opening ceremony at its newest store in Spokane Valley, Washington on Thursday, September 6, 2007. The store is located at 13902 E. Indiana Ave., near the intersection of Indiana & Evergreen.

The new 52,000 sq. ft. store will offer a full line of hunting, fishing and camping gear, fitness equipment, famous brand apparel & footwear, automotive and boating accessories, bikes, canoes, kayaks, ATVs and more.

“Spokane Valley has been at the top of our list of possible new store locations for the past few years,” said Norm Daniels, Joe’s Sports & Outdoor President and CEO. “It took longer than expected, but now we’re ready to offer area sports and outdoor enthusiasts our unique combination of brand name merchandise, selection and excellent service.”

The public is invited to attend the ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday at 9 am, where gift cards worth between $5 and $500 will be given to the first 500 customers through the doors. There will also be fishing seminars, product demonstrations, BMX stunt team exhibitions, and other activities throughout the weekend.

Prior to the ribbon-cutting, the Joe’s Sports & Outdoor Foundation will present donations to the Boys & Girls Club of Spokane County, and West Valley, East Valley, Central Valley School District Athletics. Since its inception in 2002, the Joe’s Sports & Outdoor Foundation has raised over $950,000 to support youth organizations in areas where Joe’s Sports & Outdoor stores are located.

Loy Hibbs, Spokane Valley Store Manager, said, “We’re thrilled to present these grants from the Joe’s Sports & Outdoor Foundation. These organizations focus on engaging youth in athletic and recreational programs, and encourage an active and fit lifestyle. That’s something we really care about.”

Hibbs went on to say, “It’s great that we’re opening before fall and winter arrive. This store has a Sport Services department where, in the months ahead, you can have your skis or snowboard tuned up, rent snowshoes and other winter sports equipment, or have a sport rack or cargo box professionally installed on your vehicle.”
