New Balance President and COO Jim Tompkins will leave the company in early June after 10 years in the position. A spokesperson with New Balance said the company is currently developing transition plans.
Prior to becoming president and COO in 1999, Tompkins held the position of EVP global operations. Tompkins has had one of the longest reigns as President and COO of a major footwear company in the industry.

Tomkins’ departure marks the latest in a line of departures by long-time New Balance executives as CEO Rob DeMartini, hired in May 2007, builds his team for the future.
