Rocky Shoes & Boots, Inc. announced that Scott Jenkins has joined the Company as Vice President-Women’s Occupational Business Development.
Most recently, Mr. Jenkins was Vice President and General Manager of Lowell Shoe Company, a division of H.H. Brown Shoe Company, Inc. (Greenwich, Connecticut). He has extensive experience in product development, sales, and marketing with specific emphasis on women’s footwear for the healthcare market. Previously, Mr. Jenkins was actively involved in sales and marketing of women’s footwear for Brown Shoe Company (St. Louis, Missouri).
Mike Brooks, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, commented, “Our growth strategy is focused on further strengthening the ROCKY brand as well as expansion into products and markets that complement our core competencies. Occupational footwear represented one-third of our net sales for the year 2002. We plan to continue growing sales in this category through innovative products in select markets, such as footwear for the healthcare industry. This will help us achieve our objectives and also increase the percentage of year-round business for the Company.”
Mr. Brooks continued, “Scott Jenkins is an industry veteran and a valuable addition to our Company. He is responsible for developing our occupational business for women. A line of quality, value priced footwear will be developed for this market that includes many of the attributes ROCKY footwear is known for by its customers. We anticipate introducing these products later this year.”
