Jack Buckner stated that he will step down as British Triathlon CEO at the end of the season. Having taken up the BTF role in May 2014, Buckner will move to British Swimming as a replacement for David Sparkes.

Buckner leaves the organization in a strong position having guided it through a period of organizational change, growth in participation and unprecedented success in international competition.

British Triathlon’s senior management team and board of directors will begin the recruitment process as soon as possible to achieve a smooth transition.

Jack Buckner is confident that the sport has a strong platform for the future, commenting “There’s great energy and spirit that exists in triathlon, and I’ll be sad to leave that behind, but this is a great opportunity for me to lead British Swimming. I think the sport, British Triathlon and the home nations are in a really strong position with great performance results, exciting events and superb participation programs only being part of the story.”
