In the wake of the coronavirus, TransAsia TanTec, ISA TanTec, issued a press release that its second tannery in Vietnam—and fifth in the world—started trial production last week with a projected monthly capacity of 1.5 million square feet after the trial production is completed.

The company also noted it will achieve a further increase in capacity at TransAsia TanTec, in addition to the output of more than 6 million square feet per month at Saigon TanTec.

ISA TanTec China reported 100-percent of its employees are back to work and operations have returned to full capacity while following “various safety protocols in its facilities in order to protect personnel and ensure the stability of supply during the time of the COVID-19 Coronavirus.”

In anticipation of strong demand during the peak season, the company stated it has built a large inventory position in the last quarter of 2019.
