For reinvigorating the game of golf
Topgolf won’t solve all the sport’s problems, but it’s a great start. The concept modernizes the driving range by adding micro-chipped balls, light-up targets, games, music, TVs, drinks and food. Imagine a sports bar with a technological driving range out the back door. While the business was founded in the United Kingdom back in the early 2000s, it’s only recently taken flight here in the U.S., with more than 30 locations nationwide. The company’s research shows only half of its customers have played golf before, meaning it’s introducing the game to many newcomers.
