Implus is partnering with Academy Sports + Outdoors to donate 60,000 pairs of socks to aid the victims of Hurricane Harvey in Texas and the Gulf Coast.

The organizations are working with the nationally recognized nonprofit charity Delivering Good to distribute 60,000 pairs of socks from Implus over the coming weeks. The donated goods will help men, women and children impacted by the floods, many of whom were forced to leave their homes without the necessary clothing items.

“We are proud to be able to help the people of Southern Texas and sincerely hope that our donation provides some relief to people that are currently without all of the comforts we often take for granted,” said Todd Vore, president of Implus. “One of our goals at Implus is to help people overcome challenges in sport but at times like these it’s important to remember that some challenges in life are bigger than that. We hope in some small way we are able to help people overcome those challenges too.”

The 60,000 pairs of socks will be shipped from the Implus distribution center in Durham, North Carolina, to Delivering Good’s operations in Texas. Delivering Good will then work with their network of community partners to distribute the items to individuals in the impacted areas.

“Hurricane Harvey had a devastating impact on the Gulf Coast of Texas and Louisiana,” said Vince Kuehler, national sales manager of Implus. “As a Houston resident, I watched firsthand as thousands of families lost their homes and their possessions. Implus is proud to work with our retail partner Academy Sports + Outdoors to help the community and it is our sincere hope that these socks help families begin to recover, especially as kids go back to school.”

Implus’ family of brands includes Sof Sole, Yaktrax, apara, Airplus, Sneaker Balls, Sof Comfort, Little Hotties, Perfect, TriggerPoint, ICETrekkers and Balega.
