IHRSA announced that Active Entities Consulting in Marblehead, MA has joined the Association as an Industry Partner. Active Entities will work with IHRSA to create grassroots support for the GYMS (Gym Mitigation and Survival) Act and other industry initiatives.

“IHRSA has been working with Bobby Verdun, Geoff Hampton and the Active Entities team to leverage our collective networks to pass the GYMS Act and help clubs succeed,” said Jay Ablondi, executive vice president, global products, IHRSA.

To that end, Jeff Perkins, IHRSA’s vice president of government relations, will present the latest news on the GYMS Act at the Active Entities event, “The Summit at Cedardale,” on August 3, Haverhill, MA. The event will include industry and celebrity presenters, networking, and trade show. Pam O’Donnell, IHRSA’s vice president, member experience and development, will answer questions from club operators about IHRSA member benefits. Attendees will receive an update on the 40th Anniversary IHRSA International Convention and Trade Show, scheduled to run October 13-15 in Dallas, TX.

If Congress passes the GYMS Act (H.R. 890/S. 1613) it will create a $30 billion fund to provide grants for businesses in the health and fitness industry impacted by the pandemic.
