IHRSA reported that its 2023 Convention and Trade Show held in San Diego, CA from March 20 to 22 drew 8,500 participants, up from about 6,000 attendees to its 2002 show, the first since the pandemic, held in Miami Beach, FL.
IHRSA also said this year’s show drew over 330 exhibitors versus about 300 from its 2022 show. Other highlights from the March 2023 show included over 150 speakers with keynotes from Robyn Benincasa, adventure racer, San Diego firefighter, and New York Times best-selling author; Rob O’Neill, former U.S. Navy Seal, New York Times best-selling author; and Cassandra Worthy, founder & CEO of Change Enthusiasm Global, author and consultant.
The organization also honored Greg Oliver, CEO & managing director of Fitness & Lifestyle Group, who received the Global Leader Award in honor of John Holsinger; Gale Landers, CEO of Fitness Formula Clubs, received the Advocate of the Year Award; and Carol Nalevanko, president of DMB Sports Clubs, received the Woman Leader Award in honor of Julie Main.
