IHRSA announced that Jeffrey Solsby would join the fitness trade group, effective October 12, as senior vice president of communications.

Solsby is a veteran staff member on Capitol Hill and works with other trade associations. Most recently, he was senior advisor to Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA), whom he also served in a similar role in 2011-2012 during the Congressman’s tenure as Chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform. Previously, he worked from 2019-2021 as vice president of Advocacy Communications for the National Restaurant Association, from 2012-2019 as vice president, communications and membership for the Wine & Spirits Wholesalers of America, and from 2007-2011 as director of public affairs for the American Road & Transportation Builders Association. Earlier in his career, he press secretary to former Rep. James Rogan (R-CA) for four years.
