I.E. Distribution, owners of World Industries, Flameboy vs. Wet Willy and licensor of Makaha Skateboards, announced that Scott Chantos has been appointed president of the company. Most recently Chantos served as the director of sales for Converse.
Prior to Converse, he served as director of sales for Merrell,
Timberland and VP of sales/marketing for Hi-Tec Sports.
“Scott brings a wealth of leadership experience that will help bring vision and clarity to the brand direction for all the brands under the i.e. distribution umbrella. He has a strong background in building brands and creating growth. We are extremely confident that Scott will have a great impact in his role as we look to invigorate our domestic and global sales in footwear and hardgoods,” stated the Executive Board of I.E. Distribution in a statement.
In September, I.E. Distribution announced a multiyear agreement to produce Makaha skateboards as part of its longboard and cruiser quiver.
