The Iconix Brand Group filed a lawsuit against Jay Z, New Era, Lids and MLB for using the Roc Nation logo without their permission.
Iconix acquired Rocawear, Jay Z’s apparel brand for $204 million in 2007. In the complaint filed in U.S. District Court Southern District of New York, Iconix charges it never consented or authorized the Roc Nation logo’s use in a series of New Era baseball hats featuring various Major League Baseball logos. The lawsuit was first reported by TMZ.
The suit seeks at least $10 million in damages.
