Icebreaker's U.S. headquarters will be transitioning from its current location in Sun Valley, Idaho to Portland, Oregon, with transition to be completed by early 2009. In what marks another growth spurt for Icebreaker in the US and globally, the decision to integrate U.S. sales, marketing, and operations into the same location as the brand’s global design center is a strategic move, intended to accommodate Icebreaker’s current and projected growth in the states.

In a statement from Icebreaker founder and CEO Jeremy Moon, Icebreaker is forecasting an expansion of its US team of 40 to around 80 people over the next two years. “The US team has done a fantastic job in growing the business and a successful operations base,” said Moon. “In order to continue our successful trajectory in the US, we need to be able to more readily recruit and retain talent, while allowing for greater synergies between our US head office and our global product team. Transitioning to Portland, where we’ve developed our global design team, will allow us to do just that, in a progressive city where design, sustainability, and the outdoor lifestyle and industries converge.”

The transition will begin with the U.S. sales and marketing team relocating to Portland between February and April 2008, with operations and finance to follow within the year, completing the transition in February of 2009. “We have a strong team in the US office and our transition to Portland will offer opportunities for everyone who has helped Icebreaker grow so much in such a short time,” said Moon.
