Hydro Flask, a leader in insulated stainless steel flasks, now a Helen of Troy Limited company, added two new senior directors.
Yiorgos Makris joined Bend, OR-based Hydro Flask as director of marketing and John Cupit as director of design. Makris most recently served as head of U.S. marketing for Icebreaker, and Cupit comes to Hydro Flask from 4moms, where he was the vice president of design.
“Yiorgos and John bring a tremendous amount of talent to Hydro Flask,” said Hydro Flask General Manager Scott Allan. “Their many years of experience and commitment to excellence will help support the company’s continued growth and will play an integral role in expanding the Hydro Flask brand.”
Prior to his time at Icebreaker, Makris (pictured left) was the international marketing manager at Columbia and e-commerce manager at Salomon. He joined the Hydro Flask team on January 31 and will work with the VP of marketing along with the e-commerce and creative teams to lead Hydro Flask’s integrated marketing planning and execution.
“Hydro Flask is an innovative, strong brand that has really made an impact in the outdoor space,” said Makris. “I’m excited to work with such a talented team and continue efforts to expand both domestically and internationally.”
Cupit (pictured right) served as director of design at Chuck Pelly and senior design manager at Nissan before becoming VP of design at 4moms. In his new role at Hydro Flask, Cupit will lead project planning, resource allocation and initiative prioritization in conjunction with the VP of product. Cupit will also broaden the brand’s capabilities to gain consumer use insights. His first day in the office is February 13.
“Hydro Flask has a history of commitment to quality, design and user experience,” said Cupit. “I look forward to being a part of the brand’s continued growth as we expand our product line.”
In addition to Makris and Cupit, four additional team members are joining the company including a senior product developer, product customization operations manager, account manager and recruiting specialist. Hydro Flask now employs 75 people.
