Cerf Brothers Bag Company, a 94-year-old manufacturer of packs, luggage and bags for the outdoor industry, has named industry veteran Ron Hyde as vice president of sales, said Brian Spanel, chief executive officer.

Previously, Hyde was vice president at Browning, where he supervised product development and sales of Browning branded products, excluding firearms.

“Ron is a key addition to our management team as we seek to aggressively expand our HideAway, Browning and CampInn brands in the hunting and outdoor segments,” said Spanel. “He has a wealth of knowledge and proven track record in sales and marketing in both retail and wholesale. This will be invaluable as we continue to grow.”

As vice president of sales with Cerf Brothers, he will be responsible for overseeing sales for HideAway, Browning and CampInn product lines. In addition, he will assist Lonnie Drosihn, vice president of product development/operations, in developing and implementing marketing initiatives.

Hyde is a graduate of Weber State University in Ogden, Utah. He has participated in extensive additional training programs including The Program on Negotiation for Senior Executives at the Harvard and MIT Consortium, The Summit on Leading Execution Seminar, Right Management 6 Month Corporate Executive Coaching Program and American Management Association Executive Management Skills Seminar.
