Wolverine Worldwide announce that its Hush Puppies brand is being prominently featured in a very special “throwback” edition of Newsweek magazine. The issue marks the return of hit television show “Mad Men,” and all of the editorial content and advertising evokes the look and feel of the 1960's.

In addition to Hush Puppies, many other prominent global brands were also selected to advertise in this special double issue.

Hush Puppies was contacted by Newsweek to participate in this unique opportunity because the brand is iconic, authentic and “invented” casual footwear, which rose to prominence during the 1960's.  This unique advertising opportunity allowed Hush Puppies to revisit its archive and develop an ad that was pitch-perfect for this special issue.  The brand utilized an original ad from 1962 as its inspiration for the retro-inspired advertisement.  The ad features both men's and women's Hush Puppies footwear from the brand's current offering of its “1958 Collection.”

As part of the celebration of this special issue of the magazine, there is a contest being featured on the DailyBeast.com.  Newsweek and The Daily Beast's social media fans will be asked to vote on the best retro ad in the issue. The contest will be housed for two weeks on The Daily Beast with daily outreach on their Facebook, Twitter, and Tumblr accounts. The winning ad will be recognized in a follow up issue of Newsweek and on The Daily Beast's homepage.
