Hudl, a provider of cloud-based technology that connects video and data for the sports industry, has completed the acquisition of Titan Sports, which offers wearable technology to give coaches a comprehensive view of an athlete’s performance, including metrics, video, and statistics.

Terms were not disclosed.

Hudl said in a media release that combining the company’s video analysis with Titan’s GPS player tracking will “empower coaches and athletes with objective training and performance insight, including knowing how fast players run, how hard they worked and when and athlete might be pushing too hard and risking injury.”

The combination also promises deeper athlete engagement as they can create highlights, compete on team leaderboards, and view heat maps showing where they spent their time on the playing field.

Titan, founded by Stephane and Yves Smith in 2013, gained traction in American football and soccer. Its GPS tracking system “captures over 150 metrics, while the companion software turns performance data into coach-friendly visuals with customizable dashboards and seamless exports.”

“From day one, Titan’s mission has been to give coaches the tools to understand and apply data, no matter their experience level,” said Titan CEO Stephane Smith. “Joining Hudl allows us to build faster, reach more teams, and continue helping coaches and athletes across the globe train smarter and perform at their best.”

The addition of Titan “makes Hudl’s performance-tracking tools more accessible to teams and coaches at any level, while Hudl’s WIMU wearable continues to serve professional organizations,” the company said.

“We’re focused on giving every team the tools to capture, analyze and act on performance data,” said Greg Nelson, SVP at Hudl. “Adding Titan strengthens that mission by making verified physical data more accessible, so coaches can train smarter, get their teams game-ready, and help athletes track their progress and build confidence in their development.”
