Modell's Sporting Goods announced that Seth Horowitz, EVP of merchandising marketing & allocations, has been promoted to president of the company. Horowitz's expanded responsibilities will include overseeing all aspects of business operations, including merchandising, marketing, real estate and store operations.
Horowitz essentially replaces Bob Stevenish, who resigned as president and COO of Modells, effective February 1, 2008. CEO Mitchell Modell assumed all of the merchandising responsibilities that formally belonged to Stevenish and become CEO and president.
Horowitz, former chairman, CEO and president of Everlast, joined Modell's as executive VP-merchandise, advertising, marketing, planning and allocation in January 2008.
