Hornwood Inc.,the customer-focused manufacturer of American-made knit performance textiles for the apparel, military, automotive and medical market, announced that industry veteran Phillip Murrell has joined the company as vice president of operations. As a member of the Hornwood executive team, Murrell’s responsibilities include leading manufacturing operations, Purchasing, Planning, Quality Control, Machinery and Plant Safety.
Murrell is an accomplished leader in textile manufacturing with more than 30 years of experience in developing, manufacturing and launching a host of innovative products for the textile market. Prior to arriving at Hornwood, Murrell spent the past two decades at Polartec, where he had responsibility for all global manufacturing operations. In this role, Murrell consistently utilized his unique ability to develop new manufacturing capabilities that advanced the overall textile industry while successfully delivering millions of yards of first-quality performance fabrics to the end-user. His broad experience will assist in the continued growth and development of established and new Hornwood business segments.

Murrell holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from LaGrange College. He will be based at Hornwood’s headquarters in Lilesville, NC.
