Hoka One One, a division of Deckers Outdoor Corporation, announced the addition of Conrad “The Caveman” Stoltz to the Hoka One One athlete team.

A native South African, Stoltz is no stranger to the pro triathlon circuit. Conrad has 22 years of professional triathlon experience, including being four-time XTERRA World Champion and 10 time USA Series Champion – the only athlete to hold that many titles – as well as also being a three-time International Triathlon Union Cross Triathlon World Champion, both off-road triathlon races.

During the XTERRA Series, Stoltz earned his nickname “Caveman” due to his large stature, standing at 6ft 3in and 183lb and his incredible speed during downhill sections of the mountain biking leg.

“We are extremely excited to bring an athlete of Conrad's caliber into the Hoka One One family,” said Jim Van Dine, Brand President of Hoka One One. “He demands high performance products that will enable him to excel in the sport of triathlon. This is a good fit for our brand.”

“I was unsponsored for the first 8 months of this year. It was a blessing in disguise as I was able to seek some good advice and try various brands of running shoes. The first time I ran in Hoka One One, I knew I'd found something special,” said Stoltz. “I'm really excited about the shoes, the concept and especially about what I saw in the 2014 showroom! So here's to more cushioning, more comfort, more traction and more XTERRA wins,” added Stoltz.

Hoka One One was founded in 2009 by Jean-Luc Diard and Nicolas Mermoud and was created to design shoes that offer improved performance primarily for ultrarunners. Deckers Outdoor Corp. acquired the brand in late 2012 and is investing to broaden the product line to service all runners.
