Recognizing that packing and adjusting a backpack for long hikes is not an exact science, High Peak USA is introducing Micro Flex Vario Technology to create the first pack with a harness system that can be easily lengthened or shortened on the trail with just the push of a button. This technology will be available on all of High Peak USA’s Adrenalin 70+10 and the women’s Luna 65+10 packs in 2011.
Changing altitudes, sore muscles and decreasing food and water weight all influence a backpack’s comfort and fit. While most backpacks only allow you to make complicated length adjustments to the harness system or modifications to strap lengths, the new Adrenalin 70+10 and Luna 65+10 packs from High Peak USA features a newly patented Micro Flex Vario technology that uses a fully adjustable suspension system that is easy to use.
The Micro Flex Vario system allows backpackers to fine-tune the length of their backpack down to the centimeter. The Micro Flex Vario harness system is operated by pushing the button on the back of the pack to the unlock position. Then, users can slide the pack up and down the aluminum harness rods selecting the pack length measurement most comfortable for them to wear. The length of the harness has a 10-inch variance and each centimeter is marked by teeth along the central support rod to allow for easy visual confirmation of the exact length selected. Once the most comfortable pack length has been determined the backpacker simply has to push the button back to the locked position before returning to the trail.
The Adrenalin 70+10 and Luna 65+10 are competitively priced with an MSRP of $150 and $176 respectively.
