Helinox, the maker of portable furniture and outdoor gear, has restructured the company’s leadership team, with key appointments to facilitate future brand and business growth in the European and U.S. markets.

Ethan Moon, former VP at Anker and director at Belkin, shown far left, has joined Helinox as chief operating officer for the European and U.S. businesses.

Chi-Wang Cheung, former business development director at Hermès, shown second from left, has taken on the chief strategy officer role, assuming global strategic direction and leading marketing efforts.

Daniel Hartung, head of design and innovation in Europe, shown third from left, has been with the company since its founding and, with deep knowledge of sports, outdoor and luxury, will continue strengthening the brand’s position in Europe.

Markus Hefter, former head of ISPO, shown far right, has joined Helinox as director and head of sales and operations for Europe, a key territory for the brand.

Hefter reportedly brings a wealth of experience to the leadership role for Helinox Europe. The company said he has played an essential role in shaping the industry landscape, and his background also includes leadership positions at Polygiene and Btwentyfour, where he oversaw business development and operational strategy.

“We are very excited about the future potential for Helinox in our European markets. Speaking personally, I’m incredibly honoured and humbled to take on my new role, and to work alongside such strong leaders as Ethan, Chi-Wang and Daniel, and the rest of our team,” Hefter commented. “This brand has long stood out to me, not only for its commitment to innovation and design excellence, but also for its role in redefining what’s possible in the world of portable gear. I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to contribute to this journey, working alongside a passionate team that truly embodies the spirit of outdoor culture.”

Based in Amsterdam, the Helinox Europe business is established in major European outdoor markets and specialty retail, with a new in-store merchandising initiative with key partners. Helinox said it has also gained wider lifestyle traction with Helinox Creative Centre Paris.
