Hanesbrands has signed on as Villanova’s primary apparel partner.

HanesBrands, which includes Champion, Hanes and Alternative Apparel, will design and manufacture Villanova University apparel and expand its retail footprint in Philadelphia, where the school is located, well as nationally. Villanova will also continue its partnership with Nike as the provider of its performance products and fan merchandise for its Wildcats’ Athletics programs.

“We are excited to partner with Villanova to grow the Wildcats brand and retail footprint,” said John Fryer, HanesBrand’s president, Sports Apparel. “And what better time of year to solidify our partnership than during March Madness when Villanova has made so many lasting memories for fans everywhere.”

HanesBrands created a detailed analysis of the University’s trademark licensing program and formulated a proposal in conjunction with the school’s licensing agent, CLC.

Villanova joins the University of Georgia, University of Texas, University of North Carolina, University of South Carolina, The Ohio State University, Wake Forest University, and the University of Cincinnati as primary apparel partners with HanesBrands.
