Macintosh Retail Group's managing board has appointed Peter Jan  Stormmesand, 50, as managing director of its subsidiary Halfords Netherlands effective March 5.


Stormmesand has extensive experience in the automotive world, where he has worked since 1983, including in his latest role as director at Brezan.  He will implement Halford’s plan to strengthen its position  in the Dutch market for bicycles and bicycle and car accessories.


Stormmesand's initial focus will include increasing sales per square meter, partly by adding related assortments. Macintosh Retail Group is a large-scale non-food retailer that specialises in the distribution of consumer products in the Fashion, Living and Automotive sectors. Macintosh Retail Group operates some 1,000 stores in the Benelux and U.K. Fashion comprises almost 873 shoe stores of Brantano, Dolcis, Invito, Jones Bootmaker, Manfield, PRO, Scapino, Shick and Steve Madden in the Benelux and U.K. Shoe platform Intreza and Nea International are also part of the Fashion sector. Living consists of more than 113 home furnishing stores in the Netherlands, Belgium under the name Kwantum. In Automotive Halfords is active with 140 stores in the Netherlands.
