Gym Source said Ray Giannelli will join the company as vice president of product strategy.
Giannelli is well-known in the fitness equipment industry, formerly SVP of research & development at Cybex, having developed the Arc Trainer and other innovative products brought to market prior to the sale of Cybex to Brunswick. With over 75 patents granted during his tenure, Giannelli’s role with Gym Source will be to work with existing suppliers to manufacture products that offer biomechanically and physiologically superior pieces of equipment, for both the retail and commercial fitness markets.
John Aglialoro, Gym Source chairman, stated, “Gym Source has a long history of working with suppliers to create products that appeal to our customers. We do not intend to be a manufacturer, but to work closely with the manufacturers who currently supply equipment for Gym Source distribution.” He added, “I’ve known and respected what Ray has accomplished in the fitness industry and am proud that he will be joining the Gym Source team.”
