GSI Commerce Inc.’s GSI Interactive division, which provides digital
marketing and design services, has hired Jan Dobris as vice president
of operations. Dobris will oversee the day-to-day operations and
financial management of the agency.

GSI Commerce has also appointed Bart Swanson as managing director, international, business management and strategy.

Before joining GSI Interactive, Dobris was senior vice president and
chief financial officer of G2 Interactive, a division of WPP’s G2
Worldwide global marketing services network.

“GSI Interactive has recently grown and expanded with the opening of
our New York satellite office and the acquisition of Silverlign. We
needed someone who was focused on the overall growth and operational
management of the agency,” says Nick Pahade, president of GSI
Interactive. “Jan has an extensive amount of experience in implementing
operational and financial strategies for companies.”

Swanson, who has been a consultant to GSI for the past 21 months, was
general manager, business development at Amazon.com, and helped develop
Amazon’s European expansion strategy. He was one of the key executives
responsible for launching the business in Germany, France and the U.K.
Before joining GSI, Swanson co-founded Dropshop Ltd., a Munich-based
European online selling service. He previously was managing director at
EMI Music France and has held senior positions at EMI Music Europe and
Bertelsmann AG in France and the U.K.

Swanson will work with clients in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
