The idea was to engage consumers in a nationwide movement to hit the road.  In contrast to the way many of these large-scale promotions turn out, in retrospect, the Bike Cooperatives recent Great American Bike Sales proved quite the contrary.  The event triggered participation from 15 manufacturers, a slew of nationwide participating dealers and an outreach to over 300,000 consumers.


Participating dealers for the Great American Bike Sale were allowed to pick from a wide assortment of aggressive offers from the co-op’s supplier partners, and feature those items along with their own offers in a discounted mailer that was fully customizable.


The co-op’s preferred suppliers were also pleased with results.  Tim Leaver, director of marketing for the co-op said,  “In addition to the product and direct mail discounts, we included some other exclusive offerings to make it very advantageous for dealers to be part of this event.”
