The U.S. Small Business Administration announced that Jennifer Scism, CEO and David Koorits, COO, of Good To-Go in Kittery, ME have been selected to receive the U.S. Small Business Administration’s 2018 Small Business Manufacturer of the Year Award for Maine.
“Manufacturing is often seen as producing cars and machinery, but just as important to our economy are value-added food products like those made by Good To-Go,” said Amy Bassett, SBA district director for Maine. “Pairing Maine’s outdoor tradition with its up-and-coming ‘foodie’ culture has allowed the company to make quite a name for itself.”
Good To-Go produces dehydrated gourmet meals for backpackers and campers in their KitterY facility. Scism and Koorits started the company in 2014 in a converted Cape house before expanding to the current 4,000-square-foot facility in 2016.
Good To-Go was nominated for this award by Nancy Strojny, chapter chair of Portland SCORE.
Good To-Go LLC will be honored at the 2018 SBA Small Business Awards Celebration on May 1, 2018 at the Harraseeket Inn in Freeport.
