According to Golf Datatech, golf rounds played were down 2.9 percent in June versus the year-ago month.

Public access play was down 3.8 percent and private course activity was up 1.2 percent. Declining regions included South Central, 0.8 percent.

Other declining regions include Mid Atlantic, 10.7 percent; South Atlantic, 5 percent; New England, 4.5 percent; East North Central, 2.7 percent; Pacific, 1.7 percent and South Central, 0.8 percent. Gains were seen in West North Central, 3.2 percent; and Mountain, 1.8 percent.

In the year-to-date period, golf rounds played were down 3.8 percent.
