According to Golf Datatech, golf rounds played in the U.S. were down 3.8 percent in June compared to June 2012.

Public access play was down 2.9 percent and private course activity was down 7.2 percent. There were 3410 contributing golf courses used in this report.

By region, the biggest decline came in the Mid Atlantic, down 9.2 percent; followed by East North Central, off 6.8 percent; West North Central, 6.2 percent; Mountain, 2.5 percent; South Atlantic, 2.3 percent; New England, 1.9 percent; and South Central, 1.4 percent. The one positive region was the Pacific, where rounds played grew 4.4 percent.

Year to date, rounds played are down 9.8 percent.
