Cleveland Golf has sold FIDRA, the golf apparel company formerly owned by Quiksilver, Inc., to Goodtimes International Co., Ltd., which has since changed its name to FIDRA Co., Ltd. The new FIDRA Co., Ltd. is based in Tokoy, Japan. Quiksilver entered the golf apparel business in 2001 after purchasing the FIDRA brand from its originator, John Ashworth, who also founded the Ashworth brand.
Most recently, FIDRA has been worn by tour players such as Boo Weekley, Joe Durant and Jerry Kelly on the PGA TOUR and a number of players on the Nationwide Tour.
“We plan to start by putting together our resources and efforts on the current Japanese business,” said Kenji Adachi, President of FIDRA. “At the same time, we'll continue looking for foreign partners to keep the global presence of this fantastic golf apparel brand.”
