According to the Pittsburgh Business Times, Josh Burris, CEO of GNC since February 2021, left his position in January 2023.
Burris joined the company as chief U.S. officer in 2019 as SVP finance, chief accounting officer.
As president, Burris guided the vitamin supplement retailer through a Chapter 11 bankruptcy process and sale to Chinese conglomerate Harbin Pharmaceutical Group in 2020.
GNC has no plans to name a new CEO.
In a media statement, GNC reported that its executive leadership team has been reporting directly to GNC Holdings’ Board of Directors, GNC Director of Public Relations Meredith Klein.
“We wish Josh well in his future endeavors,” said Klein. “We remain focused on our mission to help consumers Live Well. We are confident our leadership team, together with the efforts of our passionate, committed and dedicated associates, will enable us to continue to lead the category, support our consumers and help people live fit, live mighty and Live Well.”
