Globe International Limited, a global producer and distributor specializing in apparel, footwear and skateboard hardgoods, made two leadership hires due to the resignation of its CFO and Company Secretary Jessica Moelands, effective December 31, 2023, as announced on September 1.
Samantha Cook was promoted to company secretary, effective immediately. Cook joined the company in November 2022 as general counsel in its Australian business. She has over a decade of experience as a legal practitioner in the Asia-Pacific region.
“Sam has been a great addition to the team over the last 12 months,” commented CEO Matt Hill. “She brings legal and compliance expertise to the Australian business and has been working on various company secretarial matters for the past year and is well-positioned to formally assume this role. On behalf of the Board, I’d like to congratulate Sam on her promotion to company secretary, and I look forward to continuing to work closely with her.”
Karen Browne was appointed chief financial officer. Browne recently started working for the Globe and will formally assume the role of CFO on January 1, 2024, with CFO Jessica Moelands remaining in the role through the end of 2023 to ensure an orderly transition.
Browne joined Globe with more than 15 years of experience as a CFO in the global supply chain and logistics industry.
“After an extensive executive recruitment search, we are thrilled to appoint Karen to join our senior management team,” said Hill. “Karen’s background and extensive experience in supply chain and logistics will be an asset to Globe, and we look forward to the further efficiencies and fresh perspectives and insights that Karen will bring to our team.”
